Ohrid4u fully agrees with this. Ohrid, now located in North Macedonia, can rightfully be called the pearl of the Balkans. Ohrid is situated on the beautiful Lake Ohrid, one of the oldest lakes on earth. From a terrace by the water in Ohrid, you can look out over the beautiful and clear lake and see the mountains of Galicica Park smiling at you.
Ohrid is the ideal destination for a holiday, with a rich combination of culture, nature, history, delicious food, vibrant nightlife, and hospitality.
Ohrid has 365 churches. From the airplane, you can start counting the churches. You will see the beautiful Kaneo church proudly standing on the rocks.
The old town will surprise you with all its antiquities; besides churches, you will find a fortress and amphitheater. It's no surprise that Ohrid has earned a place on the UNESCO list.

In the evening, there is plenty to do: shopping, entertainment on the boulevard, festivals, folklore, and lots of music!
During the day, you can go to the market or meet one of the fishermen on the boulevard. On the many beaches in and around Ohrid, you can enjoy the sun and water. There are many activities: from a bike ride around the lake to paragliding.
A boat trip is a must during your stay. A boat trip to Saint Naum, where you can visit the beautiful monastery and discover the sources of the lake, is an unforgettable experience that you should not miss.
