Old Town Tour

This tour is common for tourists who have little time to spend in Ohrid but want to experience Lake Ohrid on a boat.

The starting point is Ohrid's central harbour just 50 metres from the main square. The tour covers the old town of Ohrid, sailing close to the shore so you get a detailed view, while on the way back you will sail further from the shore so you can enjoy a unique panoramic view of the entire old town. The main things you will see are the church of St Sophia from the 9th century, the fishing settlement of Kaneo, the church of St John in Kaneo from the mid-15th century, it is the most famous and most photographed church in Ohrid because of its great location on a cliff overlooking Lake Ohrid.

You will also see the virgin beach Labino and the two so-called Caves of Love, which are very popular with locals and also get a lot of attention from tourists. On the way back, you will see the church of Saint Clement Pantelejmon in Plaoshnik, built on the foundations of an early Christian basilica from the 9th century. At the top of the old town is Tsar Samuel's fortress from the 10th century, which overlooks both the lake and the whole Ohrid area. End point of this tour is the same as the departure, the central port of Ohrid.

BAY OF BONES
The 3 hour excursion with one stop includes Ohrid Old Town, Presidential residence of Tito, the Cave Church of Saint Stefan and the biggest village on the Ohrid Lake, Peshtani (also nicknamed as small Paris).
We make a 30-45mins stop at the Museum on water ‘Bay of bones’. It is a replica of an ancient settlement built on wooden foundations just above the lake surface. Its remainings were found under water in the late 1990’s, and in the early 2000’s a project was funded by our Government for building an actual replica only built out of wood and mud, as authentic as possible for it’s period (about 6000 years old, 4000 years b.c.).

Inside the Museum you will see a lot of objects (tools, home accessories, ceramics, etc) that were found within the foundations of the place under water. It is still being explored by local and foreign archeological and science expeditions. Regular departure and drop-off points are the Ohrid central port or if your accommodation is on the shore within the route we can pick you up and/or drop you off on the shore in front of your accommodation.
