Chamomile tea is an herbal tea made from the chamomile plant Matricaria recutita. Both the flowers and a combination of stems and flowers are used for the tea. The flowers of a chamomile plant resemble a daisy. Brewed chamomile tea is often very light in colour with a floral, sweet fragrance.
The taste and smell of chamomile is slightly sweet, slightly spicy and is very delicate.
Chamomile is drunk both pure and combined with other herbs. It is a versatile ingredient that gives a special twist mixed with other ingredients such as anise and peppermint.
 
 For all foods, the advice is to vary sufficiently and consume in moderation. For herbal teas too, it is recommended to alternate sufficiently between different varieties.
